Prior to becoming an International Coordinator, Brooke was the Marketing Administrative Assistant in the Global Education Office. She helped with event coordination, social media management and supporting the GEO student workers. When she is not working, Brooke can be found reading, planning her next travels, or cooking.

Why Brooke works in global education: I love learning about different cultures and places, so being in the international education field allows me to hear people's stories from all over the world. I had a great experience while studying abroad and I love that I can help other students get that experience. Studying abroad really helps you connect what you learn in the classroom to the real world and makes you step out of your comfort zone.

Advice for students preparing to go abroad: Try all of the different foods. Food connects people and can help you learn so much about the place you are visiting. You never know who you will meet at a restaurant and you may return home with a new favorite dish!

One of the most important lessons Brooke learned while studying abroad or traveling: You have to be flexible while traveling. You can never be prepared for every scenario that could happen, so be ready to adapt and don't be afraid to ask for help. You will find that almost everyone is willing to help you, even if there is a language barrier.
