Health & Wellness

The following information is provided as a resource regarding Arizona State University (ASU) policies and resources available to all students to maintain their health and wellness. Please read the following carefully.

Required Immunization

All ASU students are required to provide proof of receipt of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) immunization in order to register for classes. International students should complete the MMR immunization requirements soon after being admitted to ASU and before coming to the U.S. in order to not delay the course registration process. Learn more about the MMR immunization requirements.

Mandatory Health Insurance

International exchange students are automatically enrolled in the ASU Student Health Insurance plan, which is mandatory for ALL international students. The fee cannot be waived, even if your university provides you with mandatory insurance as well. This cost of the insurance will be charged to a student’s ASU student account and can be paid through the MyASU “Finances” Tab. The plan provides several health resources but does not cover the cost of dental services or personal property. Please note that the ASU Student Health Insurance coverage dates include a 4-week pre-arrival fee, even if you are not in the U.S. The insurance can be used in all 50 U.S. states. Read more about what is covered under this insurance at the Arizona State University student health insurance plan website.
