Nicole Lindell

Nicole is an ASU alumna with a B.A. in East Asian Studies, and her previous position was the Student Support Specialist of advising for Barrett, the Honors College. Her love for travel and academia led her to the International Coordinator position, where she looks forward to helping students access and experience the international community through study abroad.

• B.A. Religious Studies (Religion, Culture, and Public Life), Arizona State University

International Experience

• Year-long exchange program at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea
• Additional independent study semester at the Sogang University Korean language program
• Traveled to several different regions of Japan, as well as Thailand, Iceland, and Canada

Why Nicole works in global education: Having the privilege and opportunity to experience life abroad is an invaluable asset that should be available to as many students as possible. Helping facilitate these opportunities means that we are preparing future students for exponential personal growth and engagement with the global community.

Advice for students preparing to go abroad: Breaking out of your comfort zone will be the most difficult but most rewarding thing you can do for yourself; stay open to new experiences (and food!) and don't be afraid to ask for help.

One of the most important lessons Nicole learned while studying abroad or traveling: Kindness is everywhere, and there is more that connects us than divides us!
