Global Education Opportunities and Tuition Coverage Programs

Learners attending Arizona State University through a tuition coverage program (e.g. SCAP, Uber) are eligible to take advantage of several global education program offerings at ASU. Global education programs offered through the Global Education Office (GEO) can enrich your college experience and expand your world-view. This page is designed to help you understand what is covered by your tuition coverage program.

How does it work?

Generally, scholarships and tuition coverage awarded through partnerships like the Starbucks College Achievement Plan and the Uber x ASU Education Partnership cover tuition, undergraduate college fees, and regularly billed mandatory fees. Generally, tuition coverage programs do not cover charges billed through the Global Education Office (GEO), or fees from other GEO affiliated institutions, that may be charged in addition to tuition and fees as part of participating in a GEO program. Any specific program and application fees, outside of tuition and fees, are your responsibility.

What programs are offered by the Global Education Office?

The Global Education Office offers both short-term, long-term, and online programs (see tables below for more detail). Short-term and online global education programs are most commonly selected by students leveraging a tuition coverage program.

It is important that you proactively coordinate time off (Starbucks partners must coordinate with their manager) to ensure you continue to meet the eligibility requirements for your tuition coverage program. Questions about your tuition coverage program eligibility should be directed to Corporate Enrollment Partnership Services at
corporatepartnerscholarship@asu.edu.

Short-Term (1-4 weeks) and Online Programs

These programs may be a good option if you are actively working to maintain benefit eligibility (Starbucks) or reward eligibility (Uber) for your tuition coverage program.

Long-Term Programs

These programs are generally more than four weeks. This makes them primarily suitable for family members in the Uber x ASU Education Partnership or a veteran’s +1 recipient through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan. Starbucks partners may choose to take advantage of study abroad opportunities at ASU, with approval and support from their manager to take time off. Partners must maintain benefits eligibility to continue to receive tuition coverage through SCAP. Many partners choose to take advantage of study abroad opportunities shorter in length, such as 1-2 weeks.
